Folkestone Art Society
FAS aims to promote the visual arts to the wider public through exhibitions, workshops and lectures. It also encourages excellence in the visual, creative and applied arts through providing its members with opportunities to exhibit and sell artworks as well as encouraging young people studying art and design through its annual Gloria Gordon Award.
Folkestone and District Local History Society
The society started in 1985 when a few avid collectors of local postcards, photographs and books suggested that a local history group be formed. The society puts on a series of interesting local history talks throughout the year.
Outings and dinners are also organised for the members.
Canterbury Archeological Trust
The Canterbury Archaeological Trust was formed in 1976 to undertake archaeological excavations in advance of redevelopment projects. Today, the Canterbury Archaeological Trust’s principal role remains unchanged: ensuring that sites and buildings under threat from construction projects are adequately investigated and recorded before work takes place.
Friends of St Mary & St Eanswythe
The Friends of St Mary and St Eanswythe Parish Church group was set up in March 2014 and is dedicated to the preservation of St Mary and St Eanswythe’s church as a place of Christian worship and a focal point of historical interest for residents and visitors to folkestone. All the funds we will raise will be devoted to the upkeep of the building and to the furthering of public understanding of its history, architecture and significance.
New Folkestone Society
The New Folkestone Society exists to foster an awareness of our local environment and amenities and to encourage their conservation and enhancement. It is a non-political organisation with membership open to everyone who shares our desire to make Folkestone a more attractive town in which to live and work.
The Folkestone Choral Society
Consisting of over 100 voices, Folkestone Choral Society is the largest choir in the area and draws members from as far afield as Deal, Canterbury, Ashford and Romney Marsh. We exist as a Charitable organisation to bring the enjoyment of choral music sung to a high standard to the community of the Shepway District in Kent and many visitors to the area.

Folkestone Quarterhouse
Folkestone Quarterhouse is a Creative Folkestone project, run alongside the Folkestone Triennial, Folkestone Artworks, Creative Quarter and home venue for Folkestone Book Festival.
The Quarterhouse shares the Creative Foundation’s dedication to enabling the regeneration of Folkestone through creative activity.
The Centre is located on Tontine Street.

The Silver Screen Cinema Folkestone is an independent two-screen cinema, located in the historic town hall at the heart of Folkestone in Kent. From our old-style box office ticket vending machines to our classical auditoriums, we provide a uniquely traditional cinema experience.

The Parish Church of St Mary & St Eanswythe
The parish church of St Mary and St Eanswythe’s is situated in the heart of Folkestone. Christian worship has been offered in or near the church since 630 AD when St Eanswythe founded her nunnery – the first religious house for women in England.
